SPIEL 2024, the most anticipated event for card and board games, will run on 3 - 6 October in Messe Essen. The gaming community - board game publishers, inventors and designers, distributors and retailers, collectors and players - will gather to celebrate thousands of world premieres and beloved classics. SPIEL Essen 2024 will turn the exhibition centre into an eventful playground with nearly 1000 exhibitors from over 50 countries and approximately 147,000 visitors from 100 countries. Companies like Kosmos, Asmodee, Days Of Wonder, Blue Orange, Repos, Iello, Hans im Glück, CGE, Schmidt Spiele, alea, Oink Games, TCG, Bezier Games and many others will showcase a myriad of board, dice and card games.
As always, the upcoming SPIEL Essen will feature an intriguing programme. The prestigious InnoSPIEL awards will be held, acknowledging novel game concepts and ideas. The Deutsche Spiele Preis (DSP) awarded by the German-speaking community, will recognise achievements in two categories - Board games for families and adults and Children’s games. The traditional Educator’s Day will serve as a meeting platform for game board publishers, scientists and representatives of the education sector. The lectures and panels within the frame of Educator’s Day 2024 will explore the possibilities and benefits of the synergy between board games and learning.

Most of all , the location was excellent. It was easy to access from the airport by being so close to the main station and the direct trains to the exhibition were very close as well.
The train station proved very good for getting some thing hot to eat after a long day at the exhibition. The large supermarket was in the station as well.
