Chennai International Book Fair (also CIBF) is an annual literary event held in Chennai, India. The book fair was founded in 2023 and has succeeded in proving itself as a prominent event in the global book and literature scene. It commits itself to supporting and popularising the Tamil language, literature and culture worldwide.
The approaching edition will take place from 16 to 18 January 2025 at Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam. The main topic will be Time Travel with Tamil: From Classic to Modern, featuring the specifics of Tamil literature and its potential to attract a global audience.

Chennai International Book Fair (also CIBF) is an Indian book trade fair dedicated to the mission of Taking Tamil to the World, Bringing the World to Tamil through global literature and cultural exchanges. Tamil is among the world’s top 10 classical languages, with 2500 years of history. At the same time, the Tamil diaspora accounts for more than 80 million people in around 60 nations.
CIBF was founded in 2023 by the Department of Public Libraries and the Tamil Nadu Textbook Corporation with the main idea of serving as a global conference, book rights trade, and literary event - all in one place. Its primary goal is to buy and sell rights as well as bring Tamil culture to the global literary stage.
