Frankfurt Book Fair 2025
The 77th Frankfurt Book Fair (also known as Frankfurter Buchmesse or FBM) will take place from 15 to 19 October 2025. Over 4,000 exhibitors from around the world will showcase their products and services at Messe Frankfurt. More than 300 agencies, 105,000 representatives of the publishing industry and 110,000 book enthusiasts will attend the event. It will receive an extensive media coverage, with close to 7,000 journalists present on site during the Frankfurter Buchmesse 2025 dates.
Like previous editions, the upcoming Frankfurt Book Fair 2025 will focus on compelling, yet socially responsible content, community, and high standards in publishing. The programme will encompass special events such as Frankfurt Kids Conference and Frankfurt Rights Meeting. Highlights will also include the Frankfurt Audio area and the recently introduced Games Business Centre.
In 2025, the Guest of Honour at Frankfurter Buchmesse will be the Philippines - the second country from Southeast Asia in this role, after the appearance of Indonesia ten years ago. FBM participants will explore the diverse Philippine literature and culture through special events and meetings with established authors and publishers. Despite being rich in tradition, the Philippine literature is relatively unfamiliar to European readers, which will create a plethora of licensing and translation rights opportunities.
